to get regular updates. We do of course have our own ‘Stig’ in shape of Benn Bristow who’s time of 42.31 seconds still remains the fastest ever and live in hope that somebody will eventually wipe the smug look from his face!
The fascinating part is how fast times are posted by all types of folks – for quite some time the fastest competitor was a 58 year old lady who didn’t drive. Listen to your instructors, do as you’re told and remember you have no brakes – and watch as your times tumble!
Each year in March, we hold our ‘Race of Champions’ event at the Hovercraft Adventures Hovercross track. We invite the top 10 drivers to compete for the title of ‘Hovercraft Adventures Top Gun’ back at the Hovercross track. The winner receives a half day’s cruising in the hovercraft’s real environment, travelling over beaches, estuaries, sand and mud to explore some amazing places you can’t reach in any other vehicle. You’ll take the controls of a two seat Marlin II hovercraft with one of our instructors to accompany you – but be warned, it’s addictive!
